Bakudan is known for ramen, but the menu has a whole section that isn't ramen at all — labeled, straightforwardly, "Not Ramen." If you're eating here regularly, or you're at the table with someone who doesn't want a bowl of noodles that night, this is where to look.
Bibimbap Stone Pot — $10.99
Choice of rice or noodles, with broccoli, cauliflower, bell peppers, carrots, garlic, green onion, an egg yolk, and a house-made BBQ sauce. It's served hot in a stone pot, which keeps it cooking a little as you eat it — closer to a Korean-style bibimbap than anything on the ramen menu.
Chicken Katsu Tokyo Curry Rice — $14.99
Deep-fried panko-breaded chicken with curry sauce, served over steamed rice with a side salad. If you want something that reads more like a full plated meal than a bowl, this is the closest thing on the menu to that.
Bulgogi Bowl — $12.99
Thinly sliced marinated beef steak over steamed rice, with broccoli, carrots, green onion, and sesame seeds. This is the option if you want beef specifically — nothing on the ramen side of the menu centers on beef the way this does.
Bakudan Salad — $10.99
Spring mix, red onion, carrots, cucumber, avocado, and egg with a sesame dressing. It's the lightest option in this section, and a reasonable choice if you want something at the table that isn't a hot entrée at all.
Ordering for a Group
None of these require you to skip ramen entirely — it's common to have some of the table order ramen and others order from this section, especially if you're a regular who wants variety or you're hosting someone who just isn't in the mood for noodles that night.
