Bakudan Ramen has three locations in San Antonio — Bandera, Stone Oak, and La Cantera — and the ramen menu is identical at all of them. What actually changes from one to the next is the bar program and the neighborhood around it. Here's the real breakdown.
La Cantera: The Original
La Cantera opened in May 2019 as Bakudan's first location, and it's still the flagship. It sits along La Cantera Parkway, near the Palladium IMAX and the Shops at La Cantera, which makes it a natural stop before or after a movie or a shopping trip. Like Stone Oak, it has a full cocktail and wine program alongside the ramen menu.
Stone Oak: The Second Location
Stone Oak opened in October 2022 along U.S. Hwy 281 North. It also runs a full cocktail program, so if you're choosing between Stone Oak and La Cantera specifically for drinks, either one gives you the same bar options — the difference there is really just geography.
Bandera: The Saké Bar
Bandera Road opened most recently, in February 2023, and it's set up differently on purpose: instead of a full cocktail list, it has a dedicated saké bar. If you're planning a visit around drinks specifically, this is the one real menu difference between locations — Bandera won't have the cocktail list Stone Oak and La Cantera do, but it has saké options they don't.
What's the Same Everywhere
The ramen, starters, and food menu don't change by location — Garlic Tonkotsu, Spicy Umami Miso, Vegetarian, and everything else on the menu is available at all three. Hours are also identical across locations: Monday–Thursday 11:00 AM–8:30 PM, Friday–Saturday 11:00 AM–9:00 PM, and Sunday 11:00 AM–8:00 PM. Daily happy hour runs 3–6 PM everywhere too, though what's included in it depends on which bar program that location has.
So Which One Should You Pick?
If you want a full cocktail list, go to Stone Oak or La Cantera and pick whichever is closer. If you want saké specifically, or you're on Bandera Road already, that's the one location built around it. And if you're just craving the food, any of the three will get you the same bowl.
